A história do reggae africano com certeza não seria a mesma sem Alpha Blondy. Ele é considerado uma espécie de Bob Marley afro, com discursos contra o Apartheid e as brigas tribais que dominam o continente. Nascido em Seydou Kone na Costa do Marfim, Blondy iniciou sua carreira como vocalista da banda de rock Atomic Vibrations. Bandeou-se para o lado do reggae após ouvir Bob Marley & The Wailers. Blondy gravou alguns singles na Jamaica, que não obtiveram sucesso esperado. Trabalhou como tradutor na TV inglesa e iniciou sua carreira de glórias com o álbum Cocody Rock (1984). Três anos depois, lançou sua obra-prima, Jerusalém. Gravado com os Wailers, o disco tem mensagens religiosas e sociais da melhor qualidade, cantadas em inglês, francês, hebraico e no dialeto africano dioula. Creed é uma banda de post-grunge norte-americana formada em 1995 na cidade de Tallahassee, originalmente idealizada pelos amigos Scott Stapp (vocal) e Mark Tremonti (guitarra). A banda teve uma pausa em 2004, segundo muitos, por desavenças entre Scott Stapp e Mark Tremonti. Mas em Abril de 2009, no entanto, o site oficial do Creed foi re-lançado, e um vídeo com nome "coming soon 2009" foi colocada na página inicial, o que confirma agora que a banda está de volta. Em "What If" fez parte da trilha de Scream (Panico 3) um grande sucesso do filme de Wes Craven um produtor de filmes de terror, o vocalista Scott Stapp, fica feroz cantando diretamente para aquelas pessoas, que segundo ele, 'o julgaram mal durante anos'. "Inside Us All" é a faixa do álbum que mais se parece com o tema abordado em "My Own Prison", trazendo um pouco de melancolia, mas deixando sua mensagem de esperança e fé que as coisas melhorariam. A banda apresentou-se no Woodstock '99 onde houve a participação especial do ex-guitarrista do Doors, Robby Krieger; o que aumentou ainda mais o sucesso da banda. Os singles "Higher" e "With Arms Wide Open" foram para os primeiros lugares e o recém-lançado "Human Clay" ganhou 11 discos de platina, ficando por 18 semanas em primeiro lugar nas paradas. Após a pausa, Mark Tremonti e Scott Phillips juntaram-se ao baixista Brian Marshall e ao vocalista Myles Kennedy (ex-Mayfield Four) e formaram os Alter Bridge.
