Fundada em 28 de Maio 1993, a banda de Forró “Cavalo de Pau” continua com grande sucesso no norte e nordeste Brasileiro, pela maneira alegre e irreverente com que se apresenta durante as 5 horas de show de forró, com mais de 15 apresentações por mês. Faz com que o público se delicie e dance sem parar, mantendo um repertório de qualidade. A Banda de Forró “Cavalo de Pau”, detém uma super estrutura de sonorização e iluminação particular, além de uma carreta e um ônibus percorrendo todo o Brasil. Com um nome que homenageia as crianças, pois elas costumam brincar com os seus "Cavalos de Pau", a banda tem conquistado jovens e adultos pelo Brasil. É a prova que um trabalho sério sempre é reconhecido pelo púbico. A Banda Cavalo de Pau não se chamou Cavalo de Tróia, como inicialmente foi imaginado, mas continuou trazendo consigo o elemento surpresa. Não era um exército armado, mas uma turma equilibrada de músicos que utilizaram seus instrumentos para contagiar o público do Brasil inteiro. A banda já tem no mercado vários CDs lançados, além de inúmeras outras participações especiais. O público já sabe que a diversão é garantida e tem participado em massa. O primeiro sucesso do Cavalo de Pau a estourar no Brasil foi a canção "Timidez" (Ferreira Filho / Rômulo César), que estava no primeiro CD, "Cão Chupando Manga", e até hoje é lembrada pelo público e tocada nos shows pelo país. Entretanto, outras como "Bichinho de estimação", "Nosso caso de amor",entre outras, conquistaram as pessoas. Depois deste primeiro CD, o Cavalo de Pau, que foi fundado em Maio de 1993, já lançou o "Noda de Caju", "Namorando p/ Computador", "Não queira ser minha gaiola", "Cavalo de Pau Canta Marinês", "Doméstica" , "Cavalo de Pau Ao Vivo Volume I", "Cavalo de Pau Ao Vivo Volume II", "Haja ternura" entre outros… Em 2008 foi lançado o primeiro dvd da banda,reunindo os seus maiores sucessos em um show grandioso gravado no Jacaré Pop na cidade de João Pessoa - PB. A banda foi formada em 1970. Seu nome quase foi Hendrix, Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (ou HELP). Em 1969, Keith Emerson estava tocando com os Nice, e Greg Lake estava tocando com os King Crimson. Após tocarem nos mesmos concertos algumas vezes, os dois tentaram trabalhar em conjunto, mas perceberam que seus estilos não eram compatíveis, mas sim complementares. Eles desejavam se tornar uma banda composta por teclados, baixo e bateria, molde que Emerson já vinha desenvolvendo com o The Nice, e então saíram a procura de um baterista até encontrarem Carl Palmer (ex-Atomic Rooster). Os primeiros quatro anos foram muito férteis em criatividade. Lake produziu os primeiros seis álbuns da banda, começando por Emerson, Lake and Palmer vol. 1 em 1970, que continha o hit Lucky Man. Tarkus (de 1971), foi o primeiro álbum conceitual de sucesso da banda, descrito como uma história de evolução reversa. Fizeram turnês pelos Estados Unidos e Canadá em 1977 e 1978, com os álbuns “Works vol.2” e “Love Beach”, onde ocorreram certas críticas negativas da impressa e mesmo dos fãs mais incondicionais. No próximo período lançaram também inúmeras coletâneas e registros ao vivo: “Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends. Ladies and gentlemn: Emerson, Lake & Palmer” (74); “In Concert” (79) ; “Best of Emerson lake & Palmer” (80) para manter o contato direto com seu público. Mas com a expansão dos movimentos disco, punk e new wave, a banda não conseguiu mais se manter como inovadores da música. Eles terminaram a banda por conflitos pessoais.
