Depeche Mode é uma banda de música eletrônica formada em 1980 em Basildon, Essex, Reino Unido. A banda é a mais duradoura e bem sucedida que emergiu da era new romantic e new wave. Um dos grupos precursores do synth pop, Depeche Mode é um dos maiores e mais importantes representantes do gênero, juntamente com New Order, Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys, OMD, Human League e Gary Numan. Este movimento musical inglês no início dos anos 80 foi considerado como uma tentativa britânica de responder à influência dos alemães pioneiros da música eletrônica, Kraftwerk, cujo som e imagem eram imitados por parte dessas bandas que não essa. Com o tempo, o Depeche Mode ficou cada vez maior e melhor, tomando uma vantagem enorme em cima de seus concorrentes conterrâneos e até sobre o próprio Kraftwerk e hoje é considerado grande influência para diversas bandas de Pop e Rock atuais, como Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Lacuna Coil e Deftones. Possuindo também uma lista de fãs ilustres como Marilyn Manson, Scott Weilland, Chester Bennington, Robert Smith, Axl Rose e Johnny Cash. O grupo Depeche Mode é formado por Dave Gahan (vocalista), Martin L. Gore (tecladista, guitarrista, vocalista e compositor a partir de 81), Andrew Fletcher (tecladista) e Vince Clarke (tecladista e compositor de 80 a 81). Em 2006, estimou-se que a banda já tinha vendido mais de 91 milhões de cópias em todo o mundo (35 milhões de singles / 56 milhões de álbuns). A banda teve 44 canções nas paradas britânicas e já esteve mais vezes que qualquer outro artista entre os 40 mais ouvidos no Reino Unido sem alcançar o primeiro lugar. Seus maiores destaques musicais é o forte clima depressivo romântico e épico, e arranjos muito diferentes que resultam em uma sonoridade única. Grupo de samba formado por Felipe Girardi (voz e violão), Natalia Aisengart (voz), Luana Capaverde (tantã), Rafael dos Santos (cavaco), Ricardo Sá (baixo) e Alice Ripoll (pandeiro). Com uma música de conteúdo social reflexivo e com bases fincadas na tradição do samba, o grupo refletia as diversas concepções rítmicas da música pop com o instrumental da roda de samba. Formado nos anos de 1990, o grupo teve como uma de suas inspirações o disco "Olho de peixe", de Lenine e Marcos Suzano. Em suas apresentações, tocava composições próprias, como "O homem dos jornais", "Dessas bandas", "Urucubaca", "A cocaína sumiu da delegacia", "Navegador". Além das composições citadas, são de autoria de Felipe Girardi as músicas "Conversou" (em parceria imaginária com o cineasta Glauber Rocha) e o diálogo musicado do filme "O dragão da maldade contra o santo guerreiro", também de Glauber Rocha. Apresentou-se em diversas casas noturnas, como o Bar Semente e o Beco da Bohemia, além de participar de eventos universitários no Rio de Janeiro. Atuou também em programas de televisão como o "Afinando a língua", do apresentador Toni Belloto, no Canal Futura e foi reportagem de outro programa no canal Globo News.
