Formados em 1965, os Scorpions passaram os primeiros 18 anos sem conseguir muito sucesso nos EUA, embora já fossem bastante famosos na Europa e no Japão. Apenas com o lançamento do álbum Love at First Sting, a banda conseguiu agarrar as paradas americanas. Reconhecidos pelo single Rock You Like a Hurricane, os Scorpions assumiam um papel de destaque no rock. No início da década de 1990, tiveram fama com o álbum Crazy World e a música Wind of Change, inspirado nas mudanças sociais ocorridas no Leste Europeu e também no fim da Guerra fria. Foram o primeiro grupo a tocar na Rússia após a extinção da União Soviética e, em 21 de julho de 1990 foram convidados a participar no espetáculo de Roger Waters, The Wall in Berlin, juntamente com outros como Van Morrison e Bryan Adams. Na Alemanha Ocidental, no final da década de 60, os irmãos e guitarristas Michael e Rudolf Schenker decidem montar uma banda com os amigos Klaus Meine (como vocalista), Lothar Heimberg (no baixo) e Wolfang Dziony (na bateria). Considera-se que, neste momento, surgia o Hard rock e a primeira banda desse novo estilo musical, os Scorpions. Após gravarem uma fita demo, conseguem lançar o primeiro álbum, Lonesome Crow, em 1972. Apesar da boa repercussão da estréia, Heimberg e Dziony resolvem deixar o grupo e pouco tempo depois, Michael Schenker torna-se guitarrista da banda londrina UFO. Sozinhos, Rudolf e Klaus dão continuidade ao trabalho e rapidamente entram em contato com o guitarrista Ulrich Roth (mais conhecido como Uli Jon Roth), que por sua vez convida o baixista Francis Buchholz e o baterista Jurgen Rosenthal para completar o grupo. Fazem algumas apresentações e assinam com a RCA, que lança o segundo disco Fly to the Rainbow, em 1974. No ano seguinte, Rudy Lenners assume a bateria e o álbum In Trance faz sucesso em toda a Europa, dando início a uma turnê que consagrou o Scorpions como uma das melhores bandas de Rock ao vivo. Em 1976, gravaram Virgin Killer e, em 1977, Taken by Force, realizando shows em vários países. Em janeiro de 1985 os Scorpions se apresentaram na primeira edição do festival Rock in Rio, ao lado de outras bandas como AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Queen, Whitesnake e Yes e de Ozzy Osbourne. Seether é uma banda de post-grunge/hard rock que vai desde misturas com outros estilos com o grunge e o hard rock, originalmente chamada de Saron Gas, África do Sul. mudaram o nome em 2002, tomaram auge com o sucesso do segundo album e major label debut, Disclaimer. O estilo de Shaun Morgan e as técnicas vocais são comparadas às de Jim Morrison e Kurt Cobain. Em março de 2007, criaram musicas relacionadas às bandas alternativas dos anos 90 e às 90’s “Grunge”. Também são conhecidos como uma banda “Sul-africana de Seattle onde suas influências vem desde Nirvana, passando por Alice In Chains, Korn, A Perfect Circle e Deftones.” No ano de 1999, três garotos sul-africanos, da cidade da Pretória, resolveram se unir e montar uma banda de Rock. Porém, o primeiro problema logo apareceu: o nome da banda. Isso se deve ao fato de que já havia uma banda registrada com o nome de Saron Gás. Então, depois de algumas dúvidas, ambos os integrantes resolveram homenagear a banda Veruca Salt, batizando-se com o nome de seu maior hit, Seether. Em 2002, o Seether lançava seu primeiro álbum oficial, nomeado Disclaimer, que rendeu a banda três singles: “Fine Again”, “Driven Under” e “Gasoline”, no qual apenas o primeiro conseguiu alguma repercussão. Fortuna cresceu em São Paulo ligada à música, à dança e ao teatro. Na década de 1980, enquanto encenava suas primeiras peças, compôs um repertório de canções em parceria com o poeta curitibano Paulo Leminski (1944 – 1989). O capítulo decisivo de sua carreira, porém, começaria a ser escrito a partir de uma viagem a Israel, em 1991. Foi lá que a arte de Fortuna ganhou uma orientação inovadora: ao ouvir uma obra do cancioneiro ladino, ela percebeu ter encontrado a matéria-prima para uma proposta estética única, em que música, dança e dramaturgia convergem na recriação de um riquíssimo legado cultural. O ladino, dialeto judeu-hispânico, é o idioma dos sefaraditas, os judeus de Sefarad, nome hebraico da Península Ibérica. O contato com a tradição musical ladina mudaria a vida de Fortuna e daria um novo rumo a sua obra. Al ela iniciou um trabalho de pesquisa e resgate das canções medievais que permaneciam praticamente esquecidas. O resultado dessa busca iluminou sua trajetória. Nos anos seguintes, ela gravaria, de forma independente, seus sete CDs: La Prima Vez, Cantigas, Mediterrâneo, Mazal, Cælestia, Encontros e Novo Mundo. Com distribuição na Argentina, Espanha, Israel e Estados Unidos, a discografia de Fortuna soma quase 100 mil cópias vendidas. As gravações receberam elogios da crítica e destaque em premiações de peso. Mediterrâneo venceu o 10º Prêmio Sharp de Música como melhor disco produzido em língua estrangeira e o selo americano Putumayo, especializado em coletâneas de “world music”, incluiu cinco canções gravadas por Fortuna em seus últimos lançamentos. Os espetáculos encenados para cada um dos discos levaram Fortuna a se apresentar com grande sucesso em várias capitais brasileiras, como Recife, Porto Alegre, João Pessoa, Manaus, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, além das turnês internacionais, com passagens por Paris, Nova York (em uma aclamada apresentação na sede da ONU), Miami, Amsterdã, Haia, Antuérpia, Évora, Buenos Aires, Santiago, Caracas e na comemoração dos 3.000 Anos de Jerusalém.
