JAZZ

Always divided opinions on whether or not the best singer of jazz history with no less brilliant Sarah Vaughan, but is definitely considered the greatest artist of the song known as "The Great American Songbook", the set of compositions of the typical American Broadway Hollywood and the period from 1920 to 1960. Ella recorded his first success with Webb, "A-Tisket a-Tasket", in 1938. Ella had a sweet voice with intonation girl, extreme mastery of vocal technique, swing and scat wonderful and the ability to go up and down the scales with incomparable mastery. At 19 he was already considered the first lady of jazz getting extremely critical praise from major U.S. jazz magazines, which leads her to be hired by producer and record label owner (Verve / Pablo) Norman Granz, integrating the group Jazz At The Philharmonic managed by him. Granz became her manager and, in 1956, began to produce a series of songbooks. Ella recorded three classic albums alongside Louis Armstrong: the first simply called Ella and Louis, Ella and Louis the second Again (again), singing great songs of American music accompanied by the Oscar Peterson trio (which included her husband Ray Brown) and the third, Porgy and Bess, Gershwin's musical black, which needs no comment. His records duet with Joe Pass are considered the finest jazz biscuits. Enjoyed great success throughout his life - from the early days at the Savoy, passing by libertarians shows for college in the 60s, to crowded concerts until his death aged 79 in 1996.

[Fonte:americanas]
