Eles gravavam CD's "caseiros" para divulgar a mensagem do evangelho aos estudantes. A banda se apresentava em um grupo de jovens em Atlanta antes de ser descoberta pela lenda da música cristã contemporânea Steven Curtis Chapman. Casting Crowns conseguiu um contrato de gravação e popularizou-se em 2003 com músicas como "If We Are the Body", "Who Am I" e "Voice of Truth". Delain é uma banda de Metal Sinfônico formada em Zwolle, Holanda, no ano de 2002, pelo ex-tecladista do Within Temptation, Martijn Westerholt, com Charlotte Wessels nos vocais, Ronald Landa na guitarra, Rob van der Loo no baixo e Sander Zoer na bateria. No ano de 2001, Martijn Westerholt descobriu que sofria da doença de Pfeiffer e saiu da banda Within Temptation. Assim que melhorou o bastante, em 2002, começou a compor, para passar o tempo. Quando reuniu material suficiente, o músico começou a decidiu empregar suas letras num projecto musical. Para isso, começou a contatar outros músicos, e assim nasceu o projeto Delain. Martijn Westerholt assumiu os teclados e Charlotte Wessels (ex-To Elysium) os vocais, contando ainda com Ronald Landa na a guitarra, Rob van der Loo no baixo e Sander Zoer na bateria. Martijn Westerholt e Charlotte Wessels se encontraram por acaso. Martijn pediu a Charlotte que escrevesse a letra de uma canção e vocal à parte, e, após ouvi-la cantar, convidou-a para se juntar ao projeto, por considerar que sua sonoridade vocal se adequaria bem ao perfil da banda. Em junho de 2005, o Delain iniciou a gravação de seu primeiro álbum, “Lucidity”, que contou com algumas participações de peso: Jan Yrlund (Lacrimosa) e Ad Sluijter (Epica) ocupam-se das guitarras e Ariën van Weesenbeek (ex-God Dethroned e Epica) a bateria; para os vocais, foram convidados Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), Liv Kristine (Leaves’ Eyes) e Marco Hietala (Nightwish e Tarot), sendo que este último, além dos vocais, também se ocupou do baixo; George Oosterhoek e Guus Eikens (Orphanage) fizeram os vocais guturais. O álbum “Lucidity” teve seu lançamento adiado por diversas vezes ao longo do ano de 2006, até 04 de setembro do mesmo ano. Durante o período, a banda disponibilizou amostras das músicas em seu website, e versões completas das faixas “Sleepwalker’s Dream” e “The Gathering”, assim como o vídeo-clipe da música “Frozen”. Big Bill nasceu como William Lee Conley Broonzy em Scott County, no Mississippi no dia 26 de junho de 1893 ou 1898 (o ano exato de seu nascimento é desconhecido). Nessa época era comum homens negros aumentarem a idade a fim de arranjar um emprego ou entrar no serviço militar, o que muito provavelmente foi o caso de Broonzy também. Ele deixou o Mississippi em 1924 e foi para Chicago, Illinois, onde conheceu Papa Charlie Jackson, que foi quem o ensinou a tocar guitarra. Broonzy gravou primeiramente sozinho, no estilo clássico da época. Ele veio a ser um dos primeiros bluesmen a utilizar uma pequena banda instrumental, incluindo "traps" (um tipo de bateria), baixo acústico e harmônica, já em 1936. Os discos dessa época foram lançados como Big Bill and his Chicago Five. Esses discos foram lançados pelos selos menos expressivos da American Record Corporation, como Melotone e Perfect Records. Em 1939 a ARC foi adquirida pela CBS e Broonzy passou a gravar pela Vocalion Records e em 1945 pela Columbia Records. Foi nessa época que ele escreveu uma de suas músicas mais famosas: "Key to the Highway". Também nessa época ele tocava em bares do lado sul dos EUA. Ele saiu em turnê com Memphis Minnie durante a década de 30 e excursionou pela Europa no início de 1956. Em 1938 ele tocou no festival John Hammond's "From Spirituals To Swing", no lugar de Robert Johnson, que havia morrido pouco tempo antes da realização do show. Embora seja considerado um dos pioneiros do estilo Chicago Blues, por empregar outros instrumentos ao blues, Broonzy sempre era requisitado, principalmente pelo público branco, a tocar sozinho e com seu violão, estilo considerado por muitos como "mais autêntico". Em 1956 ele retornou para Chicago e continuou se apresentando, embora sua saúde já começasse a definhar. Ele morreu de câncer na garganta em 1958. In 1939 ARC was acquired by CBS, and Broonzy went on to record the Vocalion Records and in 1945 by Columbia Records. It was then that he wrote one of his most famous songs: "Key to the Highway". Also at that time he played in bars in the US south. He toured with Memphis Minnie during the 30s and toured Europe in early 1956.
