The Stooges é uma banda de rock norte-americana formada no final dos anos 60. The Stooges foi uma daquelas bandas de passagem meteórica que marcaram o nome na história da música. Iggy Pop, que na verdade chamava-se James Osterberg, foi o líder do grupo e tornou-se um ícone cultural pop nas últimas décadas. Ele tocou nos grupos Iguanas e Prime Movers antes de montar o seu próprio, o The Stooges, em 1967, em Michigan, nos Estados Unidos. Fields gostou do grupo e fechou um contrato para a gravação de três álbuns. O primeiro foi “The Stooges”, em 1969, produzido por Jonh Cale (do Velvet Underground). Banda fundada pelo guitarrista e cantor Fábio Trummer em 1989. De sua primeira formação fizeram parte os seguintes músicos: Fábio Trummer (guitarras, violão, sample e voz), Urêa (percussão e vocais), Rob (baixo) e Kiko (bateria). Inicialmente apresentou-se em um festival estudantil. Teve várias formações, sendo considerada uma das mais antigas do movimento Mangue Beat em Recife, segundo o pesquisador Roberto Azoubel. Seu fundador, Fábio Trummer, também integrou a Orchestra Santa Massa, ao lado do DJ Dolores, entre outros. Entre os vários integrantes que passaram pela banda, destacam-se Rogermman e Bernardo Chopinho (Banda Bonsucesso Samba Club), Karina Buhr (Banda Comadre Florzinha) e Fred Eremita. No ano de 1993 a banda participou da coletânea "Brasil compacto", produzida por Dado Villa Lobos (ex-Legião Urbana). No CD a banda interpretou "Falta de sol" e "Quando a maré encher". Em 1996 participou da trilha sonora do filme "Enjaulado", de Kléber Mendoça Filho. No ano de 1998, pela gravadora Roadrunner, lançou o CD "Sonic mambo". O disco foi gravado no estúdio Long View Farma, situado em uma fazenda no interior dos Estados Unidos. Foram incluídas as faixas "Os pés a jato", "Pedra", "Festejem", "O dia passa", "Olhando os dentes", "Sofistic balacobaco", entre outras. No ano seguinte, ao lado da jornalista e cantora Stela Campos, entre outros artistas da cena pernambucana, participou da coletânea "Baião de viramundo", disco em homenagem à obra de Luiz Gonzaga, no qual interpretou "Retrato de um forró" (Luiz Gonzaga e Luiz Ramalho). Ainda neste mesmo ano, participou de uma outra coletânea, "Reginaldo Rossi - um tributo", na qual interpretou "Faça como eu faço". Considerada um dos grandes sucessos do grupo, a música "Quando a maré encher" foi regravada no ano 2000 pelo grupo Nação Zumbi. No ano de 2001 o grupo encerrou as atividades, permanecendo apenas o seu fundador Fábio Trummer, que se apresenta com músicos convidados. Neste mesmo ano, Cássia Eller regravou "Quando a maré encher", que logo se tornou um dos destaques do disco da cantora. Em 2002 a banda lançou o CD "Olinda original style", no qual contou com as participações dos músicos Erasto Vasconcelos, Mr. Jam (Dj Dolores & Orchestra Santa Massa), Fernando Catatau, Isaar França e Karina Buhr (Comadre Florzinha), Ganja Man (Instituto), Bactéria (Mundo Livre S/A), Pi. R, Marcelo Campello, Mônica Feijó, Sapotone, Boy, Tiago (Songo), KSB e Buguinha. No ano de 2011 a banda apresentou, no Teatro Rival BR, no Rio de Janeiro, o show "Carnaval no inferno", título homônimo do CD lançado neste mesmo ano, do qual se destacaram as faixas "Quase não sobra" (Fábio Trummer e Junio Barreto) e "Gafieira na avenida", de Jorge Du Peixe e Lúcio Maia. No show também foram incluídas alguns sucessos da banda, tais como "O baile Betinha" (Erasto Vasconcelos) e "Bairro novo" e "Casa caiada", ambas de autoria de Fábio Trummer.
