George Harrison, nascido em 25 de Fevereiro de 1943, foi um dos integrantes da banda mais popular de todos os tempos, The Beatles. Era conhecido como o Beatle Tímido, mas sua guitarra se fazia presente em todas as músicas do Fab Four e deixou sua marca na historia da música. A canção "Something", totalmente de sua autoria, é a segunda música dos Beatles mais regravada de todos os tempos, atrás apenas de "Yesterday". Sua importância vai além do mundo musical. George foi um dos maiores responsáveis pela propagação da religião Hare Krishna no Ocidente; e tornou conhecida para a massa, práticas e princípios tipicamente orientais, como mantras, Yoga, meditação e etc. Teve uma carreira solo de grande êxito e morreu de câncer em 29 de Novembro de 2001. The Stooges é uma banda de rock norte-americana formada no final dos anos 60. The Stooges foi uma daquelas bandas de passagem meteórica que marcaram o nome na história da música. Iggy Pop, que na verdade chamava-se James Osterberg, foi o líder do grupo e tornou-se um ícone cultural pop nas últimas décadas. Ele tocou nos grupos Iguanas e Prime Movers antes de montar o seu próprio, o The Stooges, em 1967, em Michigan, nos Estados Unidos. Tudo começou quando o músico assistiu a um show do The Doors em Chicago. Ele voltou para Michigan com um novo nome, Iggy Stooges, e a idéia de montar um grupo. Ligou para o baixista Dave Alexander e para os irmãos Ron e Scott Asheton, guitarrista e baterista respectivamente. Assim nascia em 1967 o The Psychedelic Stooges. A primeira apresentação de muitas outras naquele ano foi na Universidade de Michigan, em pleno Halloween. Os shows eram cheios de performances, principalmente de Iggy, que se comportava de maneira estranha no palco. Ele gritava, contorcia o corpo, sujava-se com pasta de amendoim e carne crua, atirava-se na platéia e cortava o próprio corpo com pedaços de vidro. Os shows foram chamando a atenção, porque parte do público se identificava com suas músicas. Em 1968, Danny Fields, da Elektra Records, estava em Detroit para ver o show do MC5 (a banda mais famosa na cidade na época) e acabou assistindo ao The Stooges também. Fields gostou do grupo e fechou um contrato para a gravação de três álbuns. O primeiro foi “The Stooges”, em 1969, produzido por Jonh Cale (do Velvet Underground). Mesmo sem muito sucesso comercial com os dois primeiros discos, o The Stooges se tornou influência para várias bandas underground, como Sonic Youth, Mudhoney e Ramones.
