Edward Kennedy "Duke" Ellington (Washington, 29 de Abril de 1899 — Nova Iorque, 24 de Maio de 1974) foi um compositor de jazz, pianista e líder de orquestra estadunidense eternizado com a alcunha “The Duke” e distinguido com a Presidential Medal of Freedom (condecoração americana) em 1969 e com a Legião de Honra (condecoração francesa) em 1973, sendo ambas as distinções as mais elevadas que um civil pode receber. Foi ainda o primeiro músico de jazz a entrar para a Academia Real de Música de Estocolmo, e foi honoris causa nas mais importantes universidades do mundo. A música de Duke Ellington foi uma das maiores influências no jazz desde a década de 1920 até à de 1960, ainda hoje as suas obras têm uma influência apreciável, é por isso considerado o maior compositor de jazz americano de todos os tempos. Entre os seus muitos êxitos encontram-se Take the A Train (letra e música por Billy Strayhorn), Satin Doll, Rockin' in Rhythm, Mood Indigo, Caravan, Sophisticated Lady, e It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing). Megadeth é um grupo musical norte-americano liderado por Dave Mustaine. O grupo foi formado em 1983, dissolvido em 2002, e voltou a formação em 2004. O grupo é um dos pioneiros no estilo Thrash Metal, porém com a evolução do estilo as batidas cruas são substituídas por um som mais complexo e trabalhado fazendo com seus principais albuns estejam entre os melhores de todos os tempos do Heavy Metal. Pouco depois de Dave ter se retirado do Metallica (onde ele era o guitarrista solo) junto com o baixista David Ellefson, formou o Megadeth em 1983 na cidade de Los Angeles, Califórnia. Dave tornou-se o vocalista e o principal letrista das canções do grupo, bem como primeiro guitarrista. A banda rapidamente expandiu-se com o baterista Gar Samuelson e o guitarrista temporário Kerry King (do grupo Slayer). No mesmo ano, King foi substituído por Chris Poland. O sonho começou a virar realidade em 1985, quando a dupla gravou sua primeira música em uma participação na canção "Obrigado a Mentir", no disco da dupla Luiz e Isaac, respectivamente, pai e tio dos meninos. Em 1998, depois de participarem de vários festivais e shows, decidiram que era a hora de ir atrás do sonho. Foram parar no Rio de Janeiro onde gravaram um CD demonstrativo que teve como título “A Cara do País”. Trouxeram o CD para São Paulo, na intenção de mostrar seu trabalho para alguém do mercado musical que pudesse, de alguma forma, ajudá-los. Em janeiro de 2000 Tom Gomes, que acreditou no potencial da dupla e vestiu a camisa por esse sonho, levou um projeto piloto para os diretores da gravadora Indie Records que contrataram imediatamente a dupla. Em 2001 a dupla lança seu primeiro cd com a música "Por Te Amar Assim". A música "Por Te Amar Assim" foi sucesso imediato em todo o país, sendo a segunda música mais rodada no ano de 2001 rendendo a dupla, um disco de ouro, um disco de platina e a indicação ao Grammy Latino de melhor álbum de música sertaneja, além da popularidade em todos os cantos do país. Realizaram centenas de shows. Em 2002 gravaram seu segundo CD, Tudo Azul. A música "Te Peço Fica Comigo" foi a música de trabalho que alcançou maior sucesso desse disco e aumentou ainda mais a popularidade da dupla. Em Dezembro de 2002 a adversidade bateu à porta dos garotos. O mestre e amigo, o amado pai, adoece e vem a falecer no dia do próprio aniversário, 13 de dezembro, quando completaria 49 anos. Em homenagem ao pai, a dupla grava seu terceiro disco: Sempre Amei Você, que é cantada pela dupla em parceria com o próprio pai, que gravou essa música dois dias antes de adoecer na sua cidade natal(Criciúma - SC). Esse disco foi lançado em 2003 e teve como música de trabalho ”Você vai se arrepender”. E 2004 trouxe mais um disco, já com grandes sucessos, como a participação especial de Robin Gibb (BeeGees) e 2 sucessos emplacados em novelas da Rede Globo, Cabocla com música "Tantas Palavras" e América com "Coração Aventureiro", sucessos de audiência. Marco Vilane é cantor, compositor, músico e poeta. Nasceu em Jequié, na Bahia, onde cresceu cercado por uma diversidade musical e literária significativa. Envolveu-se com a música aos 11 anos com o primeiro violão, aos 13 compôs uma canção para participar de um festival no colégio onde estudava e a experiência resultou na formação de uma banda, datando, assim, o início da sua intensa relação com a música. Vilane tocou em diversos bares e casas de espetáculo do nordeste, principalmente nas praias de Atalaia e Aruana, em Aracaju, e acabou por ser adotado pela população como artista local, tão grande era sua identificação com a cidade. Esse sucesso dava-se não apenas por cantar o conhecido repertório de “barzinhos”, mas, por fazer releituras de antigas canções da música brasileira, sempre compartilhando suas descobertas sonoras e poéticas, além de marcar suas apresentações com causos e cordel, poemas e poesias. Antes de chegar a São Paulo, Marco Vilane conquistou destaque em festivais, como o FEMP, de São José do Rio Pardo, um dos três mais importantes do país, alcançando o 1º lugar; participação na final do FAMP, em Sergipe, em 2001; festival de Alvinópolis (MG), classificando duas de suas músicas; SESCanção, em Aracaju, 2000, como 2º colocado. Ingressou no cenário musical em 2009, com temporada de shows no espaço Cinematèque (RJ). Nesse mesmo ano, lançou o CD “Maria Gadú”, contendo suas composições “Bela flor”, “Altar particular”, “Dona Cila”, “Shimbalaiê”, “Escudos”, “Laranja”, “Lounge” e “Encontro”, além de “Tudo diferente” (André Carvalho), “Linda rosa” (Gugu Peixoto e Luís Kiari), “A história de Lilly Braun” (Edu Lobo e Chico Buarque), “Baba” (Kelly Key e Andinho) e “Ne me quitte pas” (Jacques Brel). Participaram do disco o cantor Leandro Léo (na faixa “Laranja”) e os músicos Dadi (baixo), Fernando Caneca (guitarra e violão tenor), Nando Duarte (violão 7 cordas), Felipe Pinaud (violão), Alexandre Prol (violão), Gabriel Melo (teclados), Arthur Maia (baixo), Liminha (guitarra), Eugenio Dale (violão), Nicolas Krassik (violino), Kiko Costa (acordeom), Stephane San Juan (bateria), Cesinha (bateria), Marcelo Costa (percussão), Doga (percussão), Adriano Sampaio (percussão), Tiago Magalhães (percussão) e ainda Rodrigo Vidal (teclado, percussão e programação), que assinou também a produção musical do disco. Neste mesmo ano, seu CD de estréia foi incluído na relação “Os Melhores Discos de 2009” do jornal “O Globo”, publicada ao final do ano, assinada pelos críticos Antonio Carlos Miguel, Bernardo Araújo, João Pimentel, Leonardo Lichote e Tom Leão. Seu CD “Maria Gadú” foi contemplado, em 2010, com o Prêmio Multishow, na categoria Melhor Álbum, e rendeu à cantora uma indicação ao Grammy Latino, na categoria Revelação. Nesse mesmo ano, apresentou-se no Circo Voador (RJ). Ainda em 2010, apresentou-se com Caetano Veloso no Citibank Hall (RJ) com o show “Caetano Veloso + Maria Gadú”, para gravação de DVD. Ainda nesse ano, lançou o DVD “Maria Gadú – Multishow ao vivo”, gravado no Credicard Hall (SP) e trazendo, nos extras, uma entrevista inédita com a cantora. Nesse mesmo ano, fez show de lançamento do DVD no espaço Vivo Rio (RJ). Ao lado de Caetano Veloso, lançou, em 2011, o DVD/CD “Multishow ao vivo – Caetano Veloso e Maria Gadú“. Também nesse ano, apresentou-se no Citibank Hall (RJ), com o show “Maria Gadú ao vivo”. Ainda em 2011, lançou o CD “Mais uma página”, contendo suas canções “No pé do vento”(c/ Edu Krieger), “Like a Rose” (c/ Jesse Harris), “Long Long Time” (c/ Maycon Ananias e Jesse Harris), “Reis” (c/ Ana Carolina e Chiara Civello), “Taregué”, “Estranho natural”, “Quem?” e “A valsa”, além de “Anjo de guarda noturno” (Miltinho Edilberto), “Oração ao tempo” (Caetano Veloso), “Axé Acappella” (Luisa Maita e Dani Black), “Linha tênue” (Dani Black), “Extranjero” (Cassyano Correa e Maycom Ananias) e “Amor de índio” (Beto Guedes e/ Ronaldo Bastos).
