Carole King nasceu em 1942, no Brooklyn, Nova York. Desde nova começou a estudar piano e começou a cantar em um quarteto vocal chamado The Co-Sines no colégiol James Madison. Ao mudar de escola para o Queens College, virou companheira de sala de Neil Sedaka, que dedicou a ela a a famosa canção “Oh, Carol”. Na mesma escola fez amizade com Paul Simon e Gerry Goffin. Goffin e King começaram então a compor juntos e essa parceria acabou virando casamento. Somente após o divórcio Carole conseguiu estourar em sua carreira solo. com Tapestry, de 1971, que ficou por quinze semanas no 1º lugar da parada dos EUA. Ganhou quatro prêmios Grammy: Album do Ano; Melhor Performance Vocal Pop; Gravação do Ano (It’s Too Late); e Canção do Ano (You’ve Got a Friend). Oasis foi uma banda de rock de Manchester, Inglaterra. O grupo começou em 1991 mas apenas surgiu no cenário mundial em 1994 como "marca" do tradicional rock britânico, que estava em baixa graças ao surgimento de outras correntes musicais, como o grunge norte-americano.
