[Fonte: wikipedia]

[Fonte: wikipedi]

The group's name was suggested by Justin's mother, * NSYNC which is short for 'In Sync', which in Portuguese means: In Sync. There is also an alleged coincidence in name, if caught the last letters of the names of the members, may form the group name: Justin, ChriS, Joey, Jason, and JC. Once Lance joined the group, he was given the nickname Lansten, just to correct the failure in forming the name, thus leaving the group name only formed with the names of sitting members. [Fonte: clubedojazz]~
