Um dos atos mais coloridos e excêntricos para sair da África do Sul, Qcumba Zoo foi formado em 1995 em torno do omnisexual Levannah (cantor / compositor) e Coruja (multi-instrumentista / produtor). Inicialmente eles se apresentaram como uma dupla, tocando músicas originais acústicas pouco frequentes em qualquer lugar que alguém iria ouvir. O primeiro single, "The Child (Inside)", foi lançado em agosto do mesmo ano e foi direto para o topo das paradas, ganhando o prêmio "Best New Band" em 1996 Samas (sul-africanos) Music Awards. Em Maio de 1996 o seu álbum de estreia, "Big" foi lançado localmente por David Gresham Records, estimulando o interesse de um número de gravadoras internacionais. Dançarino e escultor tziki  juntou-se mais tarde como seu constante acompanhamento on-stage visual para o primeiro álbum. Qcumba Zoo assinou com a gravadora Arista Nova York, que licenciou o álbum para lançamento internacional como "Wake Up & Dream". O nome da banda, também foi alterado para Qkumba Zoo. O single, "The Child (Inside)", chegou ao 1 º lugar novamente, desta vez no Clube Chart da Billboard, depois de ter sido lançado nos EUA no final de 1996. A banda também reivindicou o "Melhor Álbum de Dança "e" "prêmios Melhor Álbum Pop com as Samas 1997. Qkumba Zoo deixou a gravadora Arista em favor de sua própria gravadora independente e surgiu no ano de 2000 com um novo álbum, "Butterfly Peepl". O nome da banda, também foi curto novamente para QZoo. Em 2001, Levannah e Owl re-apareceu com o novo nome Innaskinz, apoiado por uma baixista chamada Cajun, e eles também foram vistos como QZoo com a sua interpretação de "O Holy Night" no Natal de  2002. In 2001, Levannah Owl and re-appeared with the new Innaskinz name, supported by a bassist called Cajun, and they were also seen as QZoo with her rendition of "O Holy Night" at Christmas 2002.
