Warhorse foi uma banda formada pelo ex-baixista do Deep Purple Nick Simper. Ele deixou o Deep Purple em 1969 e juntou-se à banda de Marsha Hunt. He was replaced by Pete Parks of Black August, a band that had been sharing the rehearsal room Warhorse. The band was forced to rush the recording of their next album. In June 1972, his next album, Red Sea, was released, but he also had little promotion, and shortly after its launch, the Warhorse was released from his label.
