Triumvirat foi uma banda alemã de rock progressivo formada em 1969. Durante o início, a banda executava músicas de sucesso em lugares famosos de sua cidade natal, Colônia. The Nice e Emerson, Lake & Palmer foram bandas que influenciaram a direção musical do Triumvirat, tanto que a banda incorporou algumas músicas dessas bandas em seu repertório. Triumvirat was a progressive rock German band formed in 1969. In the beginning, the band performed hit songs in famous places of his hometown of Cologne. The Nice and Emerson, Lake & Palmer were bands that influenced the musical direction of Triumvirat both the band incorporated some of these bands songs in his repertoire. At the top of his fame during the era of progressive rock in the 70's, the Triumvirat was constantly called Emerson, Lake & Palmer German or ELP clone, because the classical virtuosity of Fritz on keyboards and synthesizers. In the early 1970s, the band sent a demo tape to EMI Records in Cologne and won his first recording contract. Other albums were produced during the decade, including Mediterranean Tales: Across The Waters and Illusions on a Double Dimple. In 1975, the band reached the height of its commercial success with the release of Spartacus, which is considered by many a classic album of progressive rock. The band has undergone several personnel changes (including loss of singer Helmut Kollen, who died of asphyxiation by carbon monoxide as he heard some of his music studio in the car while the engine was running, in your garage).
