Banda de rock formada em São Paulo no início dos anos 80 com o nome Titãs do Iê-Iê-Iê, consolidou-se como uma das mais importantes e criativas do rock brasileiro. O primeiro disco saiu em 1984, e teve um grande sucesso: "Sonífera Ilha". O segundo seguiu a mesma linha pop, emplacando "Insensível". Nos discos seguintes criaram um estilo próprio mesclando elementos de rock'n'roll, punk, hard rock, pop, jovem guarda. "Cabeça Dinossauro", de 1986, considerado um disco básico do BRock, com "AA UU", "Igreja", "Polícia", "Cabeça Dinossauro" e "Bichos Escrotos". Em seguida, "Jesus Não Tem Dentes no País dos Banguelas" corroborou a permanência da banda no cenário roqueiro brasileiro, emplacando diversos hits: "Comida", "Diversão", "Desordem", "Lugar Nenhum". O quinto disco da banda, "Go Back", foi gravado ao vivo no festival de Montreux, na Suíça, e deu início à carreira internacional. Em "Õ Blésq Blom", ao mesmo tempo em que se pode detectar um começo de experimentalismo, como "O Pulso" e "O Camelo e o Dromedário", há a continuação da trajetória rock, um pouco menos pesada, com "Miséria" e "Flores". "Tudo ao Mesmo Tempo Agora", de 1991, é o último disco que conta com Arnaldo Antunes, que saiu em carreira solo. O disco seguinte, "Titanomaquia", revela uma influência grunge na banda, emplacando poucos sucessos. "Domingo" (1995) é a adesão do Titãs ao pop dos anos 90, o que só se confirma com o super sucesso de vendas que aconteceu com o CD "Acústico MTV", com versões não amplificadas dos grandes sucessos "Go Back", "Comida", "Família", "O Pulso", "Marvin" e outros. A banda fez mais de 300 shows pelo Brasil acompanhados de orquestra para divulgar o acústico. O sucesso foi tão grande que os Titãs decidiram repetir a dose no álbum seguinte. "Volume 2", lançado em outubro de 1998, trazia mais músicas antigas com arranjos acústicos.
