Colorfinger é mais conhecida por ser a última banda de Art Alexakis' antes de seguir para o Everclear. Apesar de começar como um projeto solo, Alexakis' decidiu torná-lo uma banda completa. Eles eram uma parte da cena cowpunk de San Francisco, que criou uma forma de tocar/cantar rock com elementos da música country e punk rock. Colorfinger só lançou um álbum, Deep in the Heart of the Beast in the Sun, e um EP, Demonstration, embora apenas o álbum tenha sido lançado para a venda. Ambas as versões lançadas foram de autoria de Alexakis 'Shindig. Algumas músicas originalmente realizados por Colorfinger foram lançadas dwpoia pelo Everclear.
