Paul Oakenfold (nascido em Londres em 1963) começou a sua carreira como DJ nos finais dos anos 1980 na Inglaterra. Actualmente ele é DJ, remixer, produtor e uma das maiores figuras do trance e house mundiais. Usando influências do “som de Ibiza”, da música eletrônica italiana, do soul e do house, Oakenfold produziu Happy Mondays’ Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches, e remixou U2, Massive Attack, Arrested Development, The Cure, Snoop Doggy Dogg, Simply Red, New Order, The Doors, e The Shamen com parceria de Steve Osborne. Alguns destes remixes foram produzidos sob o selo Perfecto Records, que ele criou. Ele trabalhou na rádio BBC criando o Essential Mix, programa de duas horas de trace, techno e etc. A Essential Mix virou uma turnê mundial passando pelos Estados Unidos e Ibiza entre outros. Ele entrou no cenário estadunidense com o álbum Tranceport. Com essa popularidade passou a produzir trilhas de filmes como Swordfish, The Matrix Reloaded, Collateral, 007 - Um Novo Dia Para Morrer, além disso participou de trilhas de videogames como 007 - Die Another Day com uma versão remixada do Tema de James Bond e Fifa, no qual produziu o tema que desde 2005 acompanha o jogo. Em 2002, a Q Magazine o considerou um dos 50 artistas que se deve ouvir antes da morte. No mesmo ano produziu seu primeiro album solo, Bunkka, com Nelly Furtado e Tricky (“The Harder They Come”), Ice Cube (“Get Em Up”) e Shifty Shellshock, cantor líder do Crazy Town (“Starry Eyed Surprise”). Em 2004, seu hit “Ready Steady Go” foi escolhida para tema de Collateral. A composição também foi usada em comerciais da montadora de automóveis Saab e também faz parte do filmes A Identidade Bourne, Alex Rider Contra o Tempo, e na abertura do 1º Episódio da série Las Vegas. Em 2006 Paul lançou A Lively Mind, álbum com o hit “Fast Kill Pussycat” em parceria com a cantora Brittany Murphy.
