Leona Louise Lewis, mais conhecida como Leona Lewis, nasceu em Islington, Londres, Inglaterra. É uma cantora inglesa que venceu o X Factor em 16 de Dezembro de 2006. E de lá pra cá vem sendo o maior fenômeno do Reino Unido da atualidade. Seu primeiro single, “A Moment Like This”, regravação da música de Kelly Clarkson, foi lançado na internet na mesma noite da vitória da Leona no programa. E, em apenas meia-hora, foi baixado mais de 50 mil vezes. No final de outubro de 2007, Leona lança seu primeiro single oficial, “Bleeding Love”, que teve sua estréia em 1º lugar no UK Charts, ficando por ali durante sete semanas. Spirit, o primeiro tão esperado álbum, é lançado em novembro e com vendagens recordes. Estreiando também em primeiro lugar no UK Charts Album, barrando álbuns como o “Greatest Hits” das Spices Girls e o novo da Céline Dion, “Taking Chances”. Em apenas dois meses de lançamento ele se torna o segundo álbum mais vendido do Reino Unido, atrás apenas do “Back to Black” da Amy Winehouse, com mais de 1,5 milhão de cópias vendidas. Com todo esse barulho no Reino Unido, Leona rapidamente conquistou a Europa e a Oceania e atualmente conquista os EUA. “Bleeding Love” foi 1º lugar no Billboard Hot 100, a principal parada musical do mundo, no dia 26 de Março de 2008 com mais de 215 mil downloads e uma audiência nas rádios acima dos 35 milhões. “Better in Time”, segundo single do álbum Spirit estreiou nas paradas do UK em fevereiro de 2008 e em 4 semanas a música atingia seu pico, 2º lugar, ficando atrás apenas de “Mercy”, da cantora-revelação Duffy. Spirit foi lançamento no Brasil no dia 07 de Abril de 2008.
