Johnny Clarke (nascido em 12 de janeiro de 1955) é um músico de reggae jamaicano. Ele cresceu no gueto de Kingston Whitfield Town. Em 1971, com a idade de dezessete anos, venceu o concurso de talentos em Bull Bay, seu prêmio foi uma reunião com produtores Clancy Eccles, com quem gravou sua primeira canção, "God Made the Sea and the Sun" no ano seguinte. Johnny Clarke (born January 12, 1955) is a Jamaican reggae musician. He grew up in the Kingston ghetto of Whitfield Town. In 1971, at the age of seventeen, won the talent contest in Bull Bay, his prize was a meeting with producer Clancy Eccles, with whom he recorded his first song, "God Made the Sea and the Sun" in the following year . The single did not sell well due to poor disclosure. He then went on to work with Rupie Edwards, who produced the first album of hits from Clarke in 1973, "Everyday Wondering y Julie". In 1974, Clarke continued recording "Jump Back Baby" for Glen Brown, after começpu a great association with Bunny Lee and his band The Aggrovators in 1974.
