Janson nasceu e foi criado em Hammarö, na província de Värmland, Suécia. Com a idade de nove anos, ele começou a tomar aulas de violoncelo, enquanto três anos depois de começar a aprender a tocar guitarra, hoje o seu principal instrumento. Antes de entrar na escola secundária, onde estudou música, Janson já fundou sua própria banda de jazz-rock, Mantra, no qual ele tocava violão e escreveu todas as músicas. A banda foi dissolvida em 1981, quando Janson decidiu se mudar para Estocolmo, onde vive hoje. Radicado na capital, Janson tornou-se um músico de estúdio cobiçado e também freqüentemente contratado como produtor musical e arranjador de música. Além disso, ele trabalhou como guitarrista em turnês com artistas como Roxette, Michael Ruff Band, Nils Landgren Unidade Funk, Tomas Ledin e Ratata. Jason was born and raised in Hammarö in the province of Värmland, Sweden. At the age of nine, he began taking cello lessons, while three years after starting to learn to play guitar, today his main instrument.
