Although the Rising Sons has released a single , the rest of the recorded material remained locked in the vaults of the label until 1992 . By breaking with the group , Taj Mahal stayed with Columbia and recorded his self - titled debut album , Taj Mahal . The album had an amazing acceptance and following album , The Blues Natch'l was equally well received as Giant Step , in 1969 .
