Roqueiro precoce, aos 12 anos tocava com os Cave Man, banda de cover dos Beatles. Ao longo dos anos de 1970, emprestaria sua guitarra ao Albatroz, Veludo Elétrico, Veludo e Vímana, no qual tocou com o então flautista Ritchie e o baterista Lobão.
