Representante autêntico do rock paulista, o Ira! foi formado por volta de 1980 por amantes de punk rock que freqüentavam shows na periferia de São Paulo (Edgard Scandurra, guitarra; Dino, substituído por Ricardo Gaspa, baixo; Nasi, voz; Charles Gavin, substituído por André Jung, bateria). O nome vem do Exército Republicano Irlandês (em inglês, Irish Republican Army). O primeiro compacto foi gravado pela Warner em 1983 com as músicas "Gritos na Multidão" e "Pobre Paulista", o primeiro sucesso da banda. Dois anos depois surge o primeiro LP, "Mudança de Comportamento", que não teve vendas espetaculares como o seguinte, "Vivendo e Não Aprendendo", que trazia o hit "Envelheço na Cidade". A consagração nacional veio com "Flores em Você", tema de abertura da novela "O Outro", da TV Globo. Nos anos seguintes o Ira! passou por altos e baixos, destacando-se a apresentação do Holywood Rock de 1988. Nos anos 90 gravaram outros discos e Edgard Scandurra também lançou discos solo. Em 1998, foram contratados pela abril Music, voltando às paradas com os discos "Isso É amor" e "MTV Ao Vivo". Em 2001, se apresentaram com grande sucesso no palco principal do Rock in Rio III. Ira! Acústico MTV, lançado em 2004, marca o retorno da banda, depois de um ano sem contrato com gravadoras. O álbum traz os sucessos "Flores Em Você", "Núcleo Base" e "Dias de Luta", além de faixas inéditas, com participações especiais de Samuel Rosa, Pitty e Paralamas. [Fonte:cliquemusic]

Representative authentic São Paulo rock, Ira! was formed around 1980 by punk rock lovers attending concerts on the outskirts of São Paulo (Edgard Scandurra, guitar, Dino, replaced by Ricardo Gaspa, bass; Nasi, voice, Charles Gavin, replaced by André Jung, drums). The name comes from the Irish Republican Army (in English, Irish Republican Army). The first single was recorded by Warner in 1983 with the songs "Cries in the Crowd" and "Poor Paulista", the first success of the band. Two years later comes the first LP, "Behavior Change", which was not spectacular sales as the following, "Living and Learning Not", which featured the hit "grow old in the City". The national consecration came with "Flowers in You", the opening theme of the novel "The Other", TV Globo. In the following years the Ira! has gone through ups and downs, especially the presentation of the Holywood Rock 1988. In the 90 recorded other discs and Edgard Scandurra also released solo albums. In 1998, hired by April Music, returning to the charts with the albums "This is love" and "MTV Live". In 2001, performed with great success on the main stage of Rock in Rio III. Ira! MTV Unplugged, launched in 2004, marks the band's return, after a year without a record contract.
