Alphaville é um grupo de synthpop formado em Münster, Alemanha que ganhou popularidade na década de 1980. Fundado por Marian Gold (na verdade Hartwig Schierbaum), Bernhard Lloyd ( Bernhard Gößling), e Frank Mertens (Frank Sorgatz). Conhecidíssimos por seus três maiores êxitos, "Big in Japan" , ''Sounds Like a Melody'' e "Forever Young" que se tornou a marca da banda. Alphaville nasceu no início de 1982 como Forever Young, quando Marian Gold e Bernhard Lloyd se conheceram no projeto musical Nelson Community. Meses mais tarde, Frank Mertens aderiu ao projeto. Juntos, escreveram Forever Young e gravaram sua primeira demo com o mesmo nome.
