Edgard Scandurra é o guitar hero brasileiro que pulou do rock para a música eletrônica, sob a alcunha de Benzina. O live act do Benzina aponta para diversas fontes: rock, techno, electro e tech-house. Em setembro de 2003, Benzina A.K.A Scandurra lançou seu terceiro disco solo, Dream Pop (ST2 Records). Este é o trabalho mais eletrônico do músico e é apontado pela mídia brasileira especializada como uma das jóias raras da nova música eletrônica. Em 2004 o Benzina foi considerado como uma das melhores atrações nacionais do SkolBeats, além de Ter se apresentado com a DJ Colette em São Paulo. Edgard Scandurra começou a tocar guitarra ainda criança, e aos 15 anos já liderava a banda de punk-rock Subúrbio, que mais tarde virou a Ira!, grupo seminal do rock brasileiro dos anos 80. Ainda naquela década foi baterista da banda As Mercenárias, referência no punk-rock underground brasileiro, e gravou dois discos com o grupo Smack. Canhoto e autodidata, ele desenvolveu uma técnica única tocando com as cordas invertidas (usando a guitarra de destro com a mão esquerda), o que o destacou desde o inicio de sua carreira profissional. Em 1990, ele gravou o primeiro disco solo, Amigos Invisíveis, e em 1996 saiu o segundo, Benzina. Nessa época, Scandurra já tinha sido fisgado pela música eletrônica, que percorre todas as faixas de Benzina. Virou freqüentador do Hell’s Club e amigo do DJ Mau Mau; apaixonou-se de vez pela eletrônica. Mas o maior guitarrista do Brasil, eleito cinco vezes pela crítica especializada, não abandonou os palcos e seus fãs roqueiros. Continua com a Ira! e passou a fazer parte da banda de Arnaldo Antunes, amigo de longa data e com quem tem cinco discos gravados. Scandurra ainda produziu trilhas sonoras para os desfiles de Estela Alcântara (Semana de Moda), Zapping (ao lado do DJ Zé Pedro, no Morumbi Fashion) e Vrom (2004). [Fonte: sweet_bin]

In 1990, he recorded his first solo, Invisible Friends, disc came out in 1996 and the second, Benzine. At that time, Scandurra had been seduced by electronic music, which runs all the tracks of Benzene. Turned Hell's Club goer and friend DJ Mau Mau; fell in love once by electronics. But the greatest guitarist in Brazil, elected five times by critics, did not abandon the stage rockers and their fans.
